SUMMER LEAGUE

The JV game is Friday, 7/30 at 3:45 pm on Field 1- El Toro vs Laguna Hills, followed by the Varsity Final at 5:00 pm also on Field 1- Capo Valley vs San Clemente A.
**************NEW VARSITY HEAD COACH*******************
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Varsity Head Coach, Jason Sorrell. Coach Sorrell is an English teacher at Capo and has been playing competitive soccer since he was a young boy. He then moved on to play for professional teams in England and semi-professional teams in California. He has over 20 years of experience coaching soccer at all levels, including club and high school at Corona Del Mar, Mater Dei, & Newport Harbor. We are very excited to add such an accomplished coach to our program, and extend a hearty welcome to Coach Sorrell. Physicals- This year Capo Athletes will not be able to get their physicals completed at Capo as they were able to do in prior years. In an effort to avoid the long lines that ensued with this process, you may walk-in to South Coast Medical group in Aliso Viejo and have your physical completed there for $40, with $20 of the fee donated back to the CVHS Athletic Department. This is a great way to get your physical completed and help the athletic department at the same time.

The Soles 4 Souls shoe drive was a tremendous success, with the boys collecting 118 pairs of shoes! Thank you coaches, parents, and players for helping us to do a small part in assisting the people of Haiti.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
CVHS HOSTED THE 4th ANNUAL RON WILLMS FROSH/SOPH TOURNAMENT ON 12/19 & 12/21 AND TOOK THE TROPHY, DEFEATING UNIVERSITY HIGH!!
CVHS JUNIOR VARSITY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!!!!
A wet and wild game was played in the Stadium on Saturday night, 12/12 for the JV Tournament Championship. Capo took an early 1-0 lead with a great goal by Kyle Smith, but El Toro High responded with two, and briefly had a 2-1 lead. Capo tied the game 2-2 at the half with a goal by Ricky Zavala. In the second half the score went back and forth, with goals by Dylan Browning and Kevin Baboiyan. At the end of regulation the score was tied 4-4. Ricky Zavala put another one in early in the first OT. With a scoreless second OT thanks to great goal keeping by Skylar Hand, that was all Capo needed for a thrilling late night victory and the Trophy.

TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With a rigorous schedule and 32 teams competing, the Varsity Team won six straight games in the two day tournament in Fresno to capture the title. They scored 12 goals while allowing only 3, bringing their pre-season record to 8-0. What a way to start the season!
